My Skincare Essentials

Hey Everyone!

Happy Labour Day! I’m so happy for this long weekend, but that only means tomorrow is back to school. I have been out of school for 6 years now, but I think about going back every single day. Some of you reading this might think I’m crazy, but I truly never appreciated school when I was going through it and I didn’t put forth my best efforts. I really wish I could do it all over again. Anyways, I will save that for tomorrow’s post as I will be sharing my memories, regrets and so much more about my high school/college life many years ago.

As for today’s post, I will be sharing my skincare essentials. I’ve definitely tried many products over the years and still intrigued with new ones, but these products have proven to be the ones that work best for my skin and I will continue to go back to them.

If you are interested to find out what these essentials are, keep on reading 🙂

Lush Cosmetic Lad

I have mentioned this product before, but this has become my holy grail moisturizer. I have used this product in all 4 seasons and it has never failed me. Obviously, my skin suffers a bit more in the Winter time, but Cosmetic Lad has been my saviour for my dryness. This is also perfect for sensitive skin, as it’s meant for those skin types. It’s just a nice, soothing cream that I can’t live without!

Lush Mask of Magnaminty

Sticking with Lush, I have found that this product has been nothing but beneficial to my skin over the years. I believe I started using it a few years ago and I continue to go back to it. I will use this mask about twice a week, depending if I need that extra cleansing. Just like the moisturizer, it doesn’t irritate my skin but leaves it looking clean and feeling smooth. I love that cooling sensation that it has and the natural exfoliation it gives my skin when removing it.

Lush Fresh Farmacy Bar

Last in the line of Lush products is Fresh Farmacy. This bar has honestly changed my life when it comes to my skin, specifically, my redness. My Sister was the one that introduced me to this bar and I’m so glad she did. This bar is perfect for sensitive skin types, as it has calamine powder that helps calm the skin. I have noticed a decrease in the redness and my overall acne since using it. It does dry out the skin a lot, so using a moisturizer afterwards is a must. Honestly, I will never go without this product again.

Bio-Oil

I’m sure you have heard of this product before and it’s for good reason. I have been using Bio-Oil for the last 10-15 years at least. It’s one of those products that I always seem to have in my skincare collection. The use of this is perfect for scars and stretch marks. I personally use it on my face for acne scars. It really helps diminish the look of them! There really isn’t too much to say about this product except that it works and you need this in your collection!

Vichy Mineral 89

When I first tried this product, I thought it was going to be a gimmicky product that just didn’t work. Keep in mind, I received the product free, so it wasn’t a concern if I had wasted my money. After using it consistently for 3 weeks, I realized why it was getting the reviews it was getting. I love it for the many ways it helps my skin look. It nourishes, plumps, hydrates, evens out my skin, reduces fine lines and even helps the way my makeup looks.

Vichy Mineral 89 Moisturiser

Yes, other products have played a role with my skin, but this serum has truly helped the overall look of my skin.

Vichy Purete Thermale Cleansing Gel

I don’t use this cleanser all the time, but it has still become a staple in my routine. This is more used in the Summer when my skin doesn’t act up as often. I love the gel aspect of it and it just does a great job of cleansing my skin. Even though my skin is a little bit more sensitive, I find that this cleanser doesn’t irritate it at all.

Laneige Water Sleep Mask

Ahh, this sleeping mask is the best feeling mask ever! It goes on so cool and it leaves your skin feeling refreshed in the morning. Again, this is something I use more in the Winter, but it’s great for any time your skin needs a pick me up.

Foreo Luna Play Plus

The Luna Play Plus has changed my life! I received this when I bought the Espada and I didn’t know a little cleansing device could help my routine in such a big way. I love how it isn’t harsh on the skin yet it gets deep down so the products I am using can do their job. I use this with everything, especially serums, so my skin is getting the full effect from the products I am using. It truly makes a huge difference when using the proper tools in a skincare routine.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my skincare essentials. I obviously don’t use every single product at one time, but these are the ones that have proven to be my favourites over time.

What are your skincare essentials? Do you have your holy grails or do they change from time-to-time?

Thanks for reading!

  4. Looks like you’re a fan of Lush! I find their products hit and miss – I tend to stick to their body care and hair care more. I’ve not tried or heard of the Cosmetic Lad. I’ll have to test it out next time I’m at the store.

I had no idea how affordable the Foreo Luna Play Plus is. Maybe I’ll give it a try. How do you use it with serums?
