CoverGirl TruNaked Eyeshadow Palette

Hey Everyone!

It seems like it has been a long time since I posted anything makeup related. I want to thank everyone who congratulated both my fiancé and I on our engagement! Excitement is an understatement and I am so anxious to get this wedding planned. However, this type of post will be for another day. I also have so many posts coming your way! I have definitely accumulated some products that I am excited to share with you.

Today’s post is a review on CoverGirl’s TruNaked Eyeshadow Palette. I will be reviewing the palette Goldens.

CoverGirl TruNaked Palette (2)

What Is It?

It’s a palette that contains 8 shadows and a makeup applicator. This palette comes in 3 different shades, mine being the goldens. You can also choose roses or nudes.

Pros

I am just going to come out and say it, I am blown away by this palette! I bought this with both hesitation and curiosity. I have always loved CoverGirl shadows, they have yet to fail me, but I just felt like these palettes were going to be all hype. I can confidently say they are not!

The shadows in Goldens range from matte to shimmery as well as light to dark. There is a great mixture of browns and dark greens to create a smokey eye or a natural look. I love that the shimmery shades aren’t as intense I thought they would be. There isn’t shimmer everyone!

All the shadows are creamy and pigmented! I was shocked to see how well they transfer to my lid without having to dip my brush back into the product multiple times. The shadows are so easy to work with too and I have been using them wet as well to create a more intense look.

Shades (L to R): Creme, Chiffon, Cookie, Sunkissed, Camel, Ginger, Ecru, Siera

I have been using Creme, Cookie, Camel and Siera like crazy. I already know that I am going to run out of Cookie faster than the others. Also, I don’t really notice too much of a difference between Camel and Ecru. I think one is just lighter than other one.

Shades are from left to right again & Siera is down below. I never give myself enough room!

Cons

The only negative thing I can say about this palette is the applicator they provide. I never liked the sponge applicators, but I can easily overlook it. I wish they would include a nicer brush, but oh well.

Final Thoughts

This palette is one of my favourites from the drugstore. I can easily say it beats Maybelline’s palettes and we all know how much I love Maybelline. I will be purchasing the other 2, as I truly believe they are worth the money. They are valued at $12.99, depending where you purchase the palette from.

If you want an inexpensive option to the Naked palettes from Urban Decay then look into CoverGirl. You will not be disappointed!

Leave your thoughts below! Have you tried any of their palettes yet?

Thank you for reading!

  2. I really like the idea of olive greens in a brown smoky eye. It’s definitely an interesting break from all the dozens of regular nude palettes out there right now. I think I’ll get this product and try it out

  3. I’ve been wanting to try the roses palette! I had it in my hand but I was also hesitant that it was over hyped.
Thank you for the honest review, I guess I should give it a shot! 🙂
