Review: Rimmel 9-in-1 BB Cream

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a great weekend, I know I did! It was so warm and sunny the whole weekend and I definitely took advantage of the sun being out. My apartment has been super hot, unfortunately, due to the heat still being on in my apartment (grr), but I managed. With it being hotter, I tend to stop wearing foundation and start applying the BB cream.

I love BB cream as it is so much lighter and it still gives me coverage. I don’t feel it melting away like foundation and I know I can rely on it to last me all day. So, with the warmer weather, this gave me the perfect opportunity to wear Rimmel’s 9-in-1 BB Cream. When I first mentioned this cream, I was going to write a post about how much I didn’t like it, but I didn’t give it the chance that it deserved. My first impression of the cream was not great and for me, first impressions speak volumes.

When I did my post about my new purchases, I mentioned the cream and when I was applying it to my hand, it wasn’t looking as bad when I first applied it. So with 2 days worth of wearing it, I think it gave me enough time to give all of you a review of the 9-in-1 BB Cream.

What is it

According to the packaging, the product is a “skin perfecting super makeup with 9 in 1 results.” The 9 results this BB cream provides are:

  • Primes
  • Moisturizes
  • Helps minimize the appearance of pores
  • Conceals
  • Covers
  • Smoothes
  • Mattifies
  • Brightens
  • Helps protect

The product comes in a beige and white squeezable tube with a blue cap. I love packaging like this especially for creams and foundations because it makes it very easy to control how much product you want to come out. I love how much product is inside the packaging (1 fl oz or 30 ml). I used this for two days and it seems like I barely used anything, there is just so much there. It really makes me feel like I got my money’s worth.

When I wore it

As mentioned above, I wore it both Saturday and Sunday on fairly warm days. It was 24 degrees Celsius (75 F, correct me if I am wrong). I am very prone to sweating as my face is naturally oily. I don’t like wearing foundation for that main reason and that is why I stick to BB creams this time of year. I wore it on my face for 8-10 hours both days, so there was a sufficient amount of time to get a feel of this cream. I would like to mention that I did apply Urban Decay’s Oil Control Setting Spray before and after applying my makeup. Keep this in mind as I give my review because it may play a big part for someone else who is trying this.

I like to use the Oil Control spray because it really does help me in the oily skin department. I find my makeup stays in place so much better. I don’t like it as much as the All-Nighter spray, but it still works really well. That is a whole other post though!

What I Liked

Even though BB creams are not as thick as foundations, I found this one to have just the right amount of coverage without it looking cakey on my face. It mattifies when applied, which is a huge thing for me because of my oily skin. I think the number one thing for me is that it stays on all day! This could be due to the help of my setting spray, but I even find my foundation starting to slide towards the end of the day. If a BB cream can stay on all day without any touch-ups needed then it is a winner in my books. I also really like the sunscreen aspect of it because I know I am getting protection without applying sunscreen.

What I Didn’t Like

There was nothing that I absolutely hated that would make me not ever purchase it again. There were a few items that were manageable. With this cream, I found it to have a pink undertone and people have complained that it made their skin look orange. I completely see where they are coming from and I found myself blending like crazy to make sure it didn’t leave me looking like an oompa loompa. There is one thing that I think it doesn’t do too well and that is concealing. The redness was definitely showing through and no matter how much I put on, it wouldn’t conceal it. I like using my own concealer anyways because I know it will do the job, However, if you want to rely on just this BB cream for concealing and you have redness like me, I wouldn’t recommend the product.

Would I buy it again?

I would definitely consider purchasing it again. Yes, it did a great job with lasting all day long and giving my face a smooth look, but it’s the pink tones that don’t go so well for me. I would probably consider another brand that I know I can rely on for the right shade. The concealing aspect isn’t the best, but it’s not a deal-breaker for me. I like the BB cream a lot, but I don’t think I have found my holy grail yet.

  1. Too funny! I bought this the other day and I’ve been waiting to try it and post about it. Probably next week.
    Thanks for the follow btw!

  2. I nominated you for the Liebster Award! For all the rules and details head over to my blog page!

Btw great post! I have yet to try this product, I do love my bb creams and cc creams. 🙂

    • I know! The pink undertone is killing me…I want to use it up because I hate when products go to waste, but it is so hard to get past. Thanks for the recommendation! I knew Garnier had a BB cream, but never tried it out. Thank goodness there is one for oily skin!

  3. You Find 24 degree celsius warm, its as hot as 40 degrees here in pakistan 😔. Its so hot that even the most mattifying product never works. Great review.

    • You’re so sweet! My blog has definitely been a work in progress for a long time lol. I find that I am constantly trying to find a format for my pictures that I like. When it comes to photos, I edit them a lot using The site works wonders and makes the pics looks so professional. When it comes to writing, I edit a thousand times it seems like. I write how I feel and not what I think others would like to hear, that is the most important part. You will find your groove when it comes to your blog, it’s just a lot of changing things up and working with what you like. I think you have a great start to yours though! Keep going 🙂

  4. So glad you shared this! It sounds like we have the same skin type. I have been looking for something other than foundation in the hot months and living in south Alabama, I definitely need it!!

    • And there is so many other BB creams to choose from! I think they are so great especially for the hot months and I can just imagine how hot it gets down in Alabama! I am already complaining about average spring temps haha.
